They say that you are the sum total of all the people that have touched your life. The older you get, the more you realize the truth in that. Therefore, I would like to thank the following people for their assistance, for without their help, none of this would be possible.
First of all, I would like to thank all of our wonderful, loyal customers who continue to vote “thumbs up” with their dollars. We will do our best to keep our commitment to providing excellent products and service.
I would like to thank Brad Bunch of Alfa Ricambi who, over twenty years ago, was kind enough to give me a job and get me hooked on the classic automobile parts business. I have found little difference between the Porsche owner and the Alfa Romeo owner…the “fun” factor is still there.
I would like to thank Peter Kohmann of Custom & Speed Parts, GmbH, who has given me a huge helping hand in starting this thing. Yes, I know: “Schnell, schnell!”
Big thanks go to John Benton of Benton Performance, who has really accelerated my learning curve on these cars. Not only is he a great teacher and a big support, but the quality of his work is both amazing and award-winning. It’s like having Beethoven as your music teacher.
Although he is no longer with us, a special support and inspiration always came from Dave Hillman. I know he would have loved to see this website. In fact, some of his ideas and outstanding photography can be found throughout. Thanks Dave.
Thanks John Thornton, who has spent hundreds of hours on the phone, letting me bounce ideas off of his noggin and lending his moral support and knowledge needed to run this challenging business. I know all the advice is free, but it surely is worth a lot more than that to me.
Jeff Whitney designed and built our first website almost four years ago and he deserves a thank you for helping to get our feet wet in the on-line marketplace. It provided an excellent foundation on which to build this, the second-generation site.
Our web customers have always commented on the beautiful product photography. Most of it has been done by Miles Kelman, and we thank him for his outstanding quality and attention to detail.
This, our “Series 2” or “Mark II” website is the brainchild of the immensely talented Paul Grusche. He has created a truly enjoyable shopping experience. Thanks for all the hard work, now and down the road.
Lastly, but absolutely not in the least, I would like to thank my immediate family for all their support, financially, morally or otherwise. A thank you, hug and a kiss to my little one, Theo, who I am sure, has often asked: “When is Poppie coming home?” And to my wonderful wife, Lea Ann, who has: first sparked my interest in Porsche by having me test drive several older models, supported the initial idea of self-employment, come up with the name “Classic & Speed Parts’ along with my mother-in-law, and has let me attempt a shot at the American Dream. I am the luckiest guy in the world.
